March Madness

March Madness is all over the place and we had a fun filled March Meeting!!
Our morning project was one we had planned a year or so ago when Donna first showed us her salvage creations.  The pillow below and the adorable items below are hers.  She showed us how to attach the salvage to the muslin backing and create all sorts of  interesting patterns.  It was worth it to save all those salvages over the last year.  Such a fun project.

Well what a silly look I have on my face but you can see how we create these panels.
Thanks for Donna for such a fun project
Vi is super creative as usual with a different take on the original project.

Claudia made this sweet bunny towel for the Easter Holiday.
Linda is our overachiever and showed us some adorable items.  A little off the season or a little early depending on how you look at it is the Christmas table runner above.  The quilt below is from left over material.  Pretty cute
The quilt below was started when she lived in North Carolina and was a class taught by a quilt group member even though she had some health problems.  Beautiful!!
What a  beautiful quilt!  It was a challange from Pine Needlers

I love the Jelly Roll quilts...they are so simple and end up looking so different!  Thanks Sue.
The picture below does not do justice to the wool quilt below..it is so rich.  Wow to Connie.

Roberta has out done us all with the embroidery on the piece above.  She really pushed the envelope with all the innovative embroidery she used.  I see a program in her future.  Her quilt below used a forest jewels jelly roll and added the always attractive prairie points.
The picture of Judy below is not very good..it is a tuffet pin cushion.  So cute.

Vi has gotten into flannels and produced two warm quilts.

I made this quilt for a grand niece and with a bag to match.  It is a great pattern and so easy.
The quilt below is made from a jelly roll and is for my brother who lives in Colorado.

I do not usually have so much show and tell but had to show everyone this cute idea.  Make a tea pot into a sewing box with the pin cushion in the bottom of the tea pot top.  I put thread and scissors in the pot and put it by my chair when I do hand sewing.   Fun idea.
That is Shawn with her hand over her face but with a great quilt.
Della finished up a few projects and is doing great with the thread painting!! She has a new spot in her house to display some of her newest creations.
We are having a great year in Fellowship Quilters with wonderful programs.  A reminder to all that we will need a new group to plan for next year.  It is fun to gather 3 or 4 friends and do the planning, spread the work out and grow as quilters.  Think about it.  As Barb says "This is the best Quilters group in Traverse City"
