June indoor picnic

It is hard to believe that the 2015-16 year has finished for Fellowship Quilters.  The picture to the left is a combo of outgoing and incoming leaders.  We always seem to figure it out and come up with a fantastic group of women who plan our next year of projects.  I look forward each years new learning experiences and pushing myself into areas I would not of thought possible.  It keeps us all young.
Our June picnic was held indoors at the Yacht Club on West Bay and it was a beautiful facility that met our needs beautifully.  Thank you Della!! The potluck was wonderful as usual...so much great food and wonderful friends.
This is a sample of quilt blocks brought in for the block of the month.
Kathy and Tracy are smiling because  they love their Thank you gifts...Thanks to Vi!!
Donna brought a sample pillow sham using salvage.  She is doing this as  a program next year.  So if you want to do this, save your salvage in 1 to 1 1/2 cuts so that some material pattern shows  as well as the salvage printing shows in your final project.  I have a big bag going!!
We had a new member, Roberta,  come and blew us away with her show and tell.  The one above is made with scraps and a special ruler. Looks like a pineapple and is just beautiful!
So Roberta likes to doodle and did the picture above and then created the quilt below.  What a talented lady and we are so glad to have her join us!!

Sue has been busy with panels and made both of these quilts...I never find panels like these, I wonder where she shops.
Vi has also been busy and made this with a circle acu cut.  Love the colors.
Tracey showed this quilt again but it is quilted now and still looks stunning.
Dates to remember are as follows.  July 12th  from 1 to 3 pm is the party for Brenda Sheldon who helped start this quilt group.
August 3rd is the craft fair for the Cherry Festival.
August 23rd is the first meeting for Fellowship Quilters 2016-17.  It is a salad luncheon and every one is asked to bring a salad item to add to the mix.  The new leader group will let us know the programs for the year and there will be sign ups for hostesses etc.
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer and visits new places...and maybe new quilt shops.
Soooo
Ask not what your fabric can do for you, but what you can do for your fabric!

May Fellowship Meeting

Well it is almost time for the June Picnic and I have not sent this blog out.  I do not know where the time goes some days!
We had a fun meeting last month with a great project...see the picture below.  Della did the block of the month and even gave us all the material to make the block!  She sure has a wonderful stash.
We have many quilts to give away and more in the works so keep your eyes and ears pealed for places and people in need.
The last meeting of the year is coming next week.   June 14th at the Yacht Club is the end of the year picnic.  It is a potluck and bring your own table service and a dish to pass.  Gather at 11 and lunch at 12 noon.  Thanks to many volunteers who helped to organize this fun time of fellowship.  The new leaders for next year are planning the programs and I sure it will be a fun packed year. Thanks to Joan for a package of copy paper to give to the church for our use of the copy machine.

A group picture of the great bag Pat presented for the morning program.  Lots of fun with this very useful project.
Pat is in to bags for sure as here is a purse....she says she is becoming a bag lady!
Pat made this chair for Jackie's  new house (after their house fire) and sewing room.  It is made from quilt magazine pictures and is just beautiful.  What a thoughtful friend!!
Looks like Ruth is working on UFO's and made this from a panel...so cute.
Marsha had a few things to show...there reverse applique's were a bit hit...lots of interest from the group.

Kathy and Ruth finished these two quilts from the stash of a former member, also a Ruth.  The pattern is Quake and so easy to put together.  They are for the charity  closet and we know that Ruth would love it that her fabric was producing quilts for those in need.
Marva keeps having Great grandchildren so she keeps making adorable quilts.  What a treasure she is to us and her family!!
Lynn made this dog quilt and  the Tweety bird quilt below from panels.  They are just adorable!  More for the closet and our charity work.

Bobbie always has great quilts to show.  The one below is the disappearing 9 patch that always has a new look with new colors and ways of arranging.  Great pattern.
The quilt below is a wedding quilt....great colors and quilting.
These solid color quilts are very striking.  Bobbie was given fabric  from a lady who passed away and created these beauties!
Pauline  made this as a charity quilt...love the stars and stripes.

Jackie said this was a mystery quilt from years ago and she finished it.  So beautiful! Great quilting that the picture does not show.  That is a big UFO to take off her list!!
Trudy is always so quiet and then wow's us with this monster quilt that is just stunning!!  She has made it for her niece and it is called Dancing with the Stars.  Too beautiful
I had to show some of the starts close up and it has fantastic quilting.  Really pops!  Great job Trudy.
Karen made this pillow with a new ruler... squedge ruler (not sure I got that right) but it uses different angles to make this pillow.
Hope to see you all next week.  I like the sentiment of the quote below...
