The project for next month is to make rope bowls. The examples here are some using poly rope and plain cotton rope with no fabric wrap. Should be a fun project for next week.
We have been doing a wonderful job with our charity work. We have made about 50 weighted blankets, Bibs for the Oak Park emotionally challenged students and fidget quilts for dementia patients in several facilities. Our group also makes heart pillows for surgery patients at Munson Hospital as well as blankets for the babies in the baby ICU. We have started working on a pattern for weighted eye masks for students with light sensitivity. Then there are the Habitat for Humanity quits for the new house builds. We are such an awesome group of giving women.
Sue is doing the block of the month and handed out fabric and directions. The block will have a denim center. Should be fun to make.
Here is another rope bowl example made with plain cotton rope. Very attractive!
Sally made this great quilt for a brother and sister in law. It is a panel she cut apart and reassembled. So wonderful how inventive we all become!
Patti made this for the Quilts of Valor. They meet at the VFW on the third Tuesday from 11-3pm.
This is a Missouri Star quilt pattern she modified.
Sue went on a quilt retreat and finished lots of projects. The quilt above is stunning and features unique fabric from Australia. A chain link pattern. She also made some pillows.
Sue has developed a way to make her own pillow form for the beautiful pillows she makes...she did a demo but I think I need to have a tutorial. With her method you can make a pillow form in any size
She also created these adorable creatures.
This strip quilt was a quit as you go.
I think this is the back...my notes do not say. Great use of fabric.
Renee has been quilting like crazy. The bag above is fantastic! Great back pack below.
This blue quilt has hand applique flowers...beautiful.
Pat makes these salvage purses look easy. She has also made many pocket potholders!
This is one busy quilter...a purse made out of squares and pin cushions.
And yes, another purse, but this is made from a flannel shirt.
Love the Michigan embroidery on this pillow as well as the bag below in such beautiful blues.
Lynn used this panel she won and combined it with wonderful colors.
