No Machine January

January always brings cold temps and snow storms so our leaders decided to have a no machine January so we didn't have to lug our stuff thru the snow.  Great idea as it was cold and snowy for our January meeting.  We had several presentations about color.  Tracy, Della and Claudia did a great job instructing us about how we see and use color in our sewing projects.  Della talked to us twice because Carol was sick but had all of her notes.  Great job by all of you and great information to apply to our sewing project

The color wheel is so important in finding complimentary colors.  It makes so much sense and I will use it more to combine colors in a quilt.  I think I have  to put the right colors in quits  together but looking at the color wheel will save lots of time and be more fool proof.
Della illustrated complimentary colors with the quilt above all made of batiks.
Carol made several small items to illustrate her concepts.
Barb updated us on our charity projects. We sent lots of heart pillows and baby quilts to Munson as well as lap quilts to the Hospice House.
Joan has been busy as usual and produced a great quilt.  Dell showed several art quilts that she will show in the art show that starts at the Commons Feb 6th.  Hope lots of us can check it out!!

Barb had a great story about traveling and finding quilt stores that went with this quilt.  We have all had times when our cars just drove to those  quilt stores all by themselves much to  our husbands amazement.  I know that it has happened to me!!!
                           Great pillows from Vi.
What a beautiful quilt...so who is behind it??? I did not write it down and do not remember...but we enjoyed seeing it!!  The hand quilted quilt below is beautiful...great job Connie.  I hope this blog finds everyone healthy and well.  Keep working on your list of unfinished projects for our end of the year tally...who will win...it will not be me that is for sure.  I seem to add to that list not decrease it!
