2016 Holidays for Fellowship Quilters

      Happy Holidays Quilters!
I have let the time fly by and procrastinated getting the blog together.  Today seemed like a good day to get it done with the lazy snow out my window and some well loved Christmas Carols playing. (even though xmas is over)
I hope you all had a blessed and happy Christmas and are looking forward to a joyous 2017.  The November Fellowship Meeting was such fun with everyone one enjoying the lighted tree project.  I made 6 this year and they were loved by those who were lucky to get one!!
I will be doing more for next year!

Lots of discussion about the trees and the sizes as well as how to light them.  We are so inventive as a group and always coming up with a new and better way to do something.
The Grand Traverse Baby Pantry was once again the chose for our Christmas charity.  We collected and made many baby and child items.  I made two baby receiving blankets.  It is a pattern we have made, the 10 minute receiving blanket, but it  has been changed a bit so I showed the changes.
Judy used her embroidery skills to make some adorable bibs

Ruth has been busy with some baby quilts.  Love the trucks!!

Our Christmas Holiday Party was at the TBA center and the delicious meal was made by the students.  Once again it was a wonderful meal and a great time for us to gather and celebrate the season as well as our own talents.  Sue showed this beautiful Santa quilt!  I had to take a close up of the cross stitched Santa's because they were outstanding.  What a treasure!

Ruth wowed us once again with her talents.  The picture does not show the detail of the tread painting but it is fantastic and really gives depth to the wall quilts.

Sharon said she went outside her box with this mini quilt.  It is so adorable and has so many tiny tiny pieces!!  Great job and we look forward to many more!!??

Belinda did a wonderful job with this quilt called pickles and ice cream.  It has over 3,000 pieces!!!  She made it for a friends daughter...lucky girl
Jackie made this Saints quilt for her grandson...we are sure he will love it.  Judy made the striking table runner below.  Gray is such a great color to use with so many other colors or just by itself.

Judy and her committee made gifts that were raffled off by a drawing to help us celebrate our passion of sewing.
All the gifts were unique like the one  that Ruth won...a triangle zippered bag.
Also Pat won two adorable zipper bags that really pop!!   We got a few ideas for projects for next year,
I hope the end of 2016 finds all of you well and looking forward to a joyous 2017.  I know we have some great programs coming up in the next few months.   So stay warm and snug in your sewing rooms.  Or for those of you in the warmer weather..use your sunscreen!   Kathy
