September Fellowship

Hello Fellowship Quilters.  After getting my computer back I will try and get this blog out...I think the pictures from the August meeting are toast.  Sorry.  As we start a new year of quilting I am forever amazed at the variety and loving nature of our members.  We have done so much to help others and by doing so have helped each other and ourselves.  Barb tells us we have made 60 weighted blankets along with 5 bibs for the special needs children at Oak Park School.  We donate to the Grand Traverse Baby Pantry as well as providing quilts for the Habitat for Humanity Homes that are built in this area.  The projects over the years are too numerous to name but know we are always up for a challenge and looking for new areas where we can help.  If you have any ideas for projects or areas where we can help...speak up!!  We have quilts in the closet ready to go so if you know a person in need speak up!!
The popular Block of the Month continues and the block above is called the Carey Nation Block!

Chris made this adorable table runner...it is time to think about snowmen!!
Marcia took a class from Ann Loveless and put her own spin on the project ...the perennial garden.  She also gave us info that Ann is going to be hosting retreats and classes at her studio in Frankfort...schedule and prices soon to be published.
This is a pattern called beachglass and is designed to showcase fabric patterns.  Marcia made this with her collection of cat fabrics.

Jacky took the walking foot class at Interquilten and pieced and quilted this table runner.
Below, Roberta made this wonderfully bright quilt while recovering from some surgery.  It is all Kaffe Fassett fabric !!  She also gave a slide show program this morning about the Houston Quilt show.  The quilts were amazing and her insight was very enlightening.  Thanks so much Roberta!

Polly made this Bee quilt and it is beeutiful!!
She also made the quilt below from fabric and pattern she found at a quilt show out west.
You know you are in TC when you see cherry quilts.
This was a block of the month from Quilt N Bee.
Renee showed her sunbonnet sue's and how the story continues ...

 She had us all laughing!!

 This is the honeymoon!!

This purple quilt is all hand needle turned.  Lots of time and sore fingers!

Dianne made a baby blanket for a friends baby.  Love this pattern.
Laurie made this mini quilt with paper piecing.

She is ready for the holidays with this table runner.
This necktie dress was made for the county fair contest...make something out of repurosed items.  It is so beautiful but she said it really does not fit anyone...just for looks.
Jacky went to rug camp in Minnesota this summer and made this cute rug.
She also finished the one below.
Lynn made this from a kit...pretty nice!
Barb made these two bags at a class and will give them to her new ministers little girls...I am sure they will be thrilled.
I hope this finds everyone well and adjusting to the colder rain weather.
We have one member, Pat Wittkopp, who lost her husband, Daniel,  last May to a quick illness.  She spoke of him at this meeting and invited all Fellowship Members to his memorial service on Oct 6th, 4-6 pm at the Botanical Gardens in their pavilion.  I hope some of us can attend to support her.
Thanks to all of you for being such wonderful quilters.  Kathy
