October Fellowship

Snow is flying outside my window.  We had such a lovely fall but I guess winter is really coming.  The October meeting was a fun and relaxing gathering.  We made the toilet paper roll pumpkins and the adorable button flowers.  I did the toilet paper pumpkins with my older grandkids and they loved it.  Thanks to Pat for a fun project.  We had many wonderful fall treats and talked about lots of important stuff..  One item that is important is the holiday collection for the Grand Traverse Baby Pantry.  We will do that at the Nov 28th meeting so that they can use the items for their December pantry dates.  Items needed are books, toddler clothing and pj"s, baby items, wipes and blankets.  Any hand made item is so special.  They also will accept $$$ , make a check out to Grand Traverse Baby Pantry.
The pictures show all the lovely pumpkins and their owners.  We are all so creative!

Ruth used a panel in the quilt above and then added lots to it.  The quilt below is for a boy...so cute!

Barb used chicken fabric she has collected and made an adorable quit.  She also made a visit to Elm Creek in Farwell and found lots for her to be creative with.  If none of you have visited that shop it is must...lots of fabric and great ideas and a little less expensive.
Patti made this for her nephew.  It is a Missouri Star pattern and the fabric line is True Blue.  Very striking.
Sue made this blue quilt for a niece...a girl..  very cute.  She is also holding her sample from the Stitch Club class, that she teaches,  at Iterquilten on Saturday's.  Some how I missed that picture but it you look below you will see the project from that classs that Marcia made .

The fall wall hanging is adorable.  Marcia also made the wall hanging below called Garden Fireworks...very striking.
The one below is called Happpyville...they are both great and whimsical quilts.

Bobbie made three T shirt quilts for her three nieces.  They are made from Bobbies sisters T shirts.  Her sister traveled many places and had many striking shirts for her to work with for this wonderful project.  We know they will be treasured.

What can I say about Roberta??  She is amazing!!  She presented the two art
quilts pictured but you cannot really appreciate them by the pictures.   It took her months to get it all just right.  I hope she enters them in some competitions because they are sure to win!
Vi made this bear called a Rare Bear.  It is for kisds who have rare diseases.  C&S Sewing has a workshop to learn how to make them or you can go to ManSewing on you tube.  Great cause and an adorable bear.

Ruth has been busy with her own dyed wool to make this great wall hanging.  Also she did a program last year on tiny quilts and put several together in the quilt below for a great look.  They are really  tiny tiny pieces !!!

Judy made this purse and it is so bright and attractive.  The picture on the front is dogs and the fabric is Laurel Birch.
Lynn went to the strip or be square parties this summer and made this pinwheel quilt for the closet.
Dianne has outdone herself in this Mariners Compass Quilt which was a project we did as a program a few years ago.  It is all done now and is breathtaking...and 3D...Wow!!
I found this great skirt pattern while traveling and have made several "little girl skirts".

I did not make these 3 quilts...just put the binding on but I show them because some of you participated in making them.  Some were from orphan blocks that Barb put together.  They all turned out wonderful.

Della showed us this great quilt.  It is a pattern that is good for big patterned fabrics and turns out so striking.  I made my brother this same pattern last year and it looks completly different.  Great job Della
