Feburary Cold

Yes that is my thermometer on my back porch showing 24 below zero.  It has been such a cold month but we are hearty northern Michiganders...who also love to quilt.  I hope the cold temps have allowed everyone to work on their many projects and UFO's.  I have been getting lots done and from the pics below it looks like other members have also.  We had a great felt/wool project from Tracey and Jacky and I enjoyed it very much.  I did finish mine at home.  I cannot get the snowman below to turn around..love computers...but it is still adorable.  Also the Cherry Festival themed coasters will come in handy this summer.  Thanks to the great mom/daughter duo for all their pre-work and great instructions.   Once again it was nice to not have to drag our sewing machines thru the snow!
I sent a meeting update after the last meeting but will repeat that if anyone has info  for a quilt for someone in need let Barb know and she will try and accommodate the need.

Serious members who are listening to Judy's financial report.  We do not pay dues but  collect love offerings when we need to buy supplies such as batting.

Pat showed off her half square triangle quilt.  We had an exchange of half square triangles a few years ago and have seen many great quilts as a result.
Barb always has quilts that are beautiful and this one is no exception.  The close up of the cross stitch quilt below was done by her neighbor.  Unfortunately she died before it was finished and Barb finished it for her.,,now she has to find someone in that family who will give it a home and love it.  Great job Barb...I am sure your neighbor is looking down from heaven and thanking you!!!  Just another example of how quilters are wonderful people.

Connie brought this quilt because it uses felted wool.  Great job and so warm!!
