January FellowshipMeeting

We gathered together on a very cold winter day to make pine cone ornaments.  Della and I guided the brave thru the process with wonderful results.  The fabric choices are unlimited and each one turns out so unique! We ended up with a good turn out for the meeting despite the weather.
Barb reported that there was not a work bee in January and not be one in February.  She is having one as special work day to make weighted blankets for the Oak Park kids.  It will be on a Saturday in February and the OT's will help.  They will need sewers and stuffers for the blanket.  I will keep you posted on the date.

Here are the finished ornaments!!
The  block of the month is done by Chris and looks to be a fun one.
Pat is new to quilting and this is her first quilt to finish up.  The top was in her mother in laws sewing stuff and she had it quilted and then learned how to do the binding...yea you tube!!

She also made two purses and used her binding skills!

Here is her first quilt that she pieced herself and quilted herself.  It is for a charity called Stitches of Kindness who provide quilts for emergency personal to give to people in need.  Sounds like a great group.
Chris practiced her awesome quilting skills on this beautiful white quilt.

Linda won the October block of the month and put together this adorable quilt top!
What a cute needle/pin holder!  Tracey got it as a gift and it is made from old embroidered linens.

Ruth always wow's us with something.  The snowflake is made with ferry fast fabric and is sparkly.  She is ahead of the game with this fall wall hanging.

Sue has been really busy..cute elephants and a stunning black and white feature fabric.

Sue made the star quilt for the Veterans group.  The pink quilt was made from fabric she obtained from a fellow quilter...Marcia.  She would love it!!

Now these two are cute quilts...what more can I say?   They are just adorable!!!!

Pat has the corner on the purse market...she has been really busy.

These two items were made from kits she obtained at the paddle auction.

Yes she made her jacket and a travel  pouch with an amazing number of pockets.
The quilt below was made from squares she ended up with at her church guilt.  Great colors.

Della is moving forward with her wall hanging per month and this is the one for June.  Nice to think about sail boats this time of year.  The bike quilt below is just fantastic..quilted by Lynn.
Sue has this sweet flower embroidery that she is teaching at Interquilten...She is doing a different flower each class.  These are for get me nots and lollipop flowers.
